Ben Fosco

Singer | Rhythm Guitarist | Songwriter

Music has been a lifelong passion for Ben Fosco, who first picked up the guitar in 1995. He played consistently for a decade before taking a brief hiatus, only to rediscover his love for the instrument in 2010. Since then, he hasn’t put it down, refining his skills and channeling his creativity into songwriting and performance.

The Beatles were the catalyst for Ben’s journey into music. Growing up, his dad introduced him to the Fab Four, playing their records regularly. At age 7, he received a VHS tape of Yellow Submarine from his aunts, a recording he watched so often it eventually wore out. That early exposure to melody, harmony, and storytelling inspired his lifelong devotion to music.

Over the years, Ben has been a member of various bands with colorful names and unique styles, including Puppy and The Flying CowDogs, Purple Monkey Dishwasher, Benny Three Sticks, Avocado Llama, 13 Stellas, Wireless Waffles, and The Grunge Puppets. In 2020, he joined Stereo-Fi, taking on the role of lead singer and rhythm guitarist, bringing his distinctive voice, intricate rhythms, and engaging stage presence to the group.

As a songwriter, Ben has achieved a rare feat: having three different songs of distinct styles with three different bands played on three different radio stations. His versatility and passion for diverse musical expressions underscore his creative brilliance.

Whether singing from the heart, strumming infectious rhythms, or crafting memorable melodies, Ben Fosco brings his deep love for music and storytelling to every performance, making him a driving force behind Stereo-Fi.

Art James

Lead Guitarist | Rock Virtuoso | Composer

Art James’ musical journey began at an early age. He started playing piano by ear when he was just 5 or 6 years old, later taking formal lessons at the age of 8. He quickly developed a natural talent, regularly competing in music competitions and bringing home ribbons. By the age of 15, Art turned his attention to the guitar, learning by ear and utilizing tablature from the internet to fuel his passion for the instrument.

Art’s musical education took a more formal turn when he enrolled at Columbia College, where he focused on classical guitar and composition. His dedication led him to study in Spain at the prestigious Festival de Córdoba in 2001 and 2002, where he had the privilege of learning from some of the greatest classical guitarists in the world. In 2008, Art graduated with a BA in Instrument Performance and Composition. He was even offered a scholarship to study classical guitar in Italy and Switzerland, but chose to turn it down as his band was on the verge of getting signed.

At 18, Art formed his first band, Natural Addiction, and performed a memorable Halloween show for Q101 Radio, dressing as Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band and performing a mix of original songs and Beatles covers. Though the band never secured a record deal, it set the stage for Art’s continued pursuit of music. His next band, Mumbojumbo, followed when he was 21.

In 2007, Art formed Spinning Red, which would eventually evolve into Stereo-Fi. Over the years, Art has developed a distinctive guitar style, blending classical training with rock sensibilities. Alongside his work with Stereo-Fi, he regularly performs classical guitar at Geja’s, a fondue restaurant, and gives performances at Columbia College.

Recently, Art released an original track and music video, Restless Soul, a poignant tribute to his late mother. The song is available on all digital retailers and streaming services.

With his blend of classical expertise and rock experience, Art James continues to inspire audiences, whether performing live or composing new music. His dedication to both his craft and his art makes him a versatile force in the world of music.

Brendan "B-Man" English

Bass Player | Performer | Groove Specialist

Brendan English picked up the bass guitar at the age of 17, inspired by iconic bassists like Tommy Shannon of Stevie Ray Vaughan’s band and Cliff Burton of Metallica. His influences helped him develop a deep appreciation for powerful grooves and expressive playing, shaping his unique musical style.

While Brendan dabbled in small projects early on, he began playing in serious bands at the age of 25. In 2008, he joined his first band, Angry Mixtape, where he honed his stage presence and creative approach. During a show with Angry Mixtape at the Stage Bar in the fall of 2012, Brendan met members of Spinning Red. The connection proved fateful, as he later joined the band in 2013, becoming a driving force behind their energetic sound. In 2017, Brendan took on a new chapter in his musical journey, joining Stereo-Fi. With Stereo-Fi, Brendan not only showcased his talents as a bassist but also stepped into the role of vocalist, proving he could excel as a multifaceted performer.

Whether performing live or in the studio, Brendan English’s dedication to the bass and vocals shines through every note and lyric. His talent, versatility, and passion for music make him an invaluable part of every project he joins.

Jeff Iversen

Drummer | Percussionist | Rhythm Architect

Jeff Iversen began his drumming journey at just 10 years old, inspired by the thunderous grooves of John Bonham after watching The Song Remains the Same. Fueled by his newfound passion, Jeff asked his mom for a drum set, took lessons at the age of 12, and quickly transitioned to being self-taught. His style reflects a fusion of influences, drawing from rock legends like John Bonham (Led Zeppelin), JP Gaster (Clutch), and Taylor Hawkins/Dave Grohl (Foo Fighters).

Jeff started playing in bands in high school and has been an active member of his local music scene ever since. In 2011, he posted on Facebook that he was looking to start an original classic rock band. Art Rento, guitarist and founder of Spinning Red, saw the post and reached out. By early 2012, Jeff had joined Spinning Red, becoming a cornerstone of their sound with his dynamic drumming and creative instincts.

In addition to his drumming, Jeff has also proven himself as a talented vocalist. He performed as the lead singer in a cover band and continues to showcase his vocal abilities with Stereo-Fi. His ability to combine powerful rhythms with compelling vocals adds a unique layer to every band he’s a part of.

Whether behind the drum kit or a microphone, Jeff Iversen’s passion for music and versatile talent make him a force to be reckoned with in the rock world.
